Sharing

This morning when I opened the door to Lash's bedroom I got the usual "No" when he realized it was just me. After I had turned to go downstairs Lash came and hugged my leg and said "missed you"....it made up for all of the times he's been so disappointed that I wasn't someone else.

Before making it very far I realized that I needed to make the bed in our guestroom, so I put Henley on the floor and got to work. After a few minutes she started to fuss because she wanted to be held. Lash, who had been saying "I love you Ahli Jane," became frustrated with the crying. I explained to Lash that I left her plug downstairs and she was crying because she wanted me to pick her up.

I continued making the bed and a few seconds later I noticed the crying had stopped and I heard Lash say "Share." I turned around to see that Lash had given Henley his plug and she seemed very grateful for it. He was very proud of himself and so was I!

God is good!

We were getting ready to walk out the door on our way to church and I said "God is good." I decided to try to teach Lash the saying "God is good all the time and all the time God is good." I explained that when I say "God is good" that he follows by saying "all the time" and I would say "all the time" and he would say "God is good."

After the first attempt he looked at me and said "God loves me." I almost melted.

A few minutes later, once we were in the car, he said "Lashee loves Jesus."

I pray that Lash never forgets either of those statements!!

Snapshot

Life has been CRAZY lately!! We have been so busy and there is no indication things are going to slow down. Here is a snapshot into our lives:

- I (Sarah) hit a deer on my way home from small group the other night....thankfully no one was hurt and we got to keep the deer. A neighbor happened to be driving by (he saw the flashing lights from his hot tub house and came to check out what was going on) and he helped Clint load the deer int the Tahoe.Clint and I got to try our hand at processing...we haven't eaten any of it yet, but we are anxious to!

- Lash is still in the terrible two's but we love him to pieces. He has a sweet spirit (occasionally) and he loves Henley to pieces. He likes to refer to himself as "big boy" or "big brother". He loves all things sports related and enjoys throwing footballs and baseballs and shooting hoops in the living room. He has started saying "thank you" and "sorry" more frequently and we are working on hearing "please" more regularly.

- Henley is moving out of the infant stage (thankfully) and is getting lots of personality. She is a mama's girl and wants to be held almost constantly. She's doing better at playing on the floor or sitting in her bouncer, but will let us know when it is time to be picked up. She started rolling over (both ways) just before turning 4 months old.

"Mine's"

I will sometimes call Clint on speaker phone because it is easier than holding the phone up to my ear while holding Henley or trying to keep Lash from doing something crazy.

This particular call was work related and went something like this:

Clint: "Not sure if you can help me...I'm looking at this thing for D___ Delivery..." (full name of client is not disclosed for confidentiality reasons)

Lash interupts by saying: "No biber delivery. Mine's job."

Lash is responsible for diaper delivery (click here for a video demonstration) and was afraid that Clint was taking his job. He's less than 2 1/2 years old and already concerned with job security.

Henley rolling over

The girl can roll! She rolls mostly from her back to her tummy, but if she gets mad enough she will go from her tummy to her back.
