Family Photos

Every few months I get the itch to do a family photo. I was really wanting to get a photo of myself and the kids and a picture of just Clint and me. We all happened to be dressed in coordinating colors this past Sunday, so I threw the camera in the car and asked Clint's sister to take our family photos before lunch.

Unfortunately we didn't get a great family photo...although we tried very hard, but overall we did get some good ones.

Best Weekend Ever...Almost

If you would have asked me Saturday at lunch if this was the best weekend ever I would have confidently answered "YES!"...and then the meltdowns started. Overall, it was a really good weekend and we got work done with plenty of play time as well.

Blueberry Picking

 

We got invited by a friend to go blueberry picking at Berry Good Farm near Ottawa, Kansas. Although it was the hottest day of the year (so far) we had a blast! We were concerned when we first arrived that they were all picked out, but we were able to pick over two pounds of yummy blueberries.

 Lash was pretty good at finding the ripe berries, but Henley had a more difficult time. The best part was eating while picking...they both loved taste testing along the way!

Race Car

Lash and Henley were playing together last week without the need of a referee (I am adding that job to my resume). Here is a video of Henley pushing Lash on his Lightning McQueen car...I think he should have been pushing her, but I was not going to offer any suggestions.

First Annual KuefferFest

After lots of planning, the weekend for KuefferFest finally arrived. We hosted Clint's family (and a couple of extra special friends) for 24 hours full of good food, laughter, games, awards, and the unforeseen raccoon hunt.

It was a blast and we can't wait for next year!

Redbud Classic

We had not been able to make it to one of Chloe's track meets all season, but thankfully the Wellsville Redbud Classic got rescheduled from Thursday (yucky weather) to Tuesday (beautiful weather).

We didn't make it to the meet early enough to see Chloe throw javelin (sorry!), but we did get to see her run in the Thrower's Relay. We also checked out the pole vault...because that was fun for the kids to watch...and we caught the 4x800 relay and the open 400 (go Morgan!!).

Umbrella Hat

I'm not sure that I have ever seen one in person...an umbrella hat! A friend of ours gave Lash one after church on Sunday and the kids had fun trying it on. It is also being used as a picnic blanket of sorts...who knew!?

Girls Night!!

Ah....friends! Last weekend a very good friend from Nashville came back for a short visit and we had a "Girls Night"...which was a wild and crazy dinner at Pepperjax followed by a silly photo shoot.

Drawings and Dreams

Lash has been drawing a lot more lately...usually family portraits or maps (which is a long curvy line). Here are some of his masterpieces:

Lash has also been dreaming more lately. The other morning he came downstairs, went potty, came over to my bed and in a very serious voice said "I'm sorry that I dumped the yogurt out." I then started asking him questions. Turned out he had a dream where there were a lot of scary/mean dinosaurs that Daddy had to stay with while one dinosaur got in the car with Lash. That is where Lash dumped out all of the blueberry yogurt. The dinosaur that was at our house was a "bone" dinosaur. He later walked up to Clint and apologized for leaving him with all of the scary dinosaurs. Too funny!
